So, is there a difference between a brazilian & a hollywood wax?

At WAXInc we’re often asked this exact question, the answer is yes there definitely is.
Often at times throughout the beauty industry the terms Hollywood and Brazilian have been used as one and the same but there are a few noticeable differences.

A black and white image of the letter wLet’s start with the Brazilin Wax. This style of wax leaves a small strip, shape, triangle or patch of hair at the front. It still removes all the hair in between and around to your bum.

When you get a Hollywood style wax it removes all of the hair, from the front, the sides all the way around to the back, leaving you entirely smooth.

Quite often throughout the industry they create different names for different styles of waxes, so you the customer know what to expect and what you’re paying for. This way you know what you’re getting done, and they know exactly how long it should take and can allow the right amount of time between appointments. Obviously different styles require more or less work, so the price will vary accordingly.

A black and white image of the letter wThere is a variety of different names and styles of waxes, the important thing you need to remember is that ultimately it’s up to you how much hair you would like removed. You don’t have to lock yourself into a particular style of wax; you can just use them as a guide.

We don’t recommend starting with the full Hollywood wax or the Brazilian if you’ve never had one before. Start off slowly with a Bikini wax and then once you’re comfortable, you can move up to the other styles of waxing. There are a few things that you can do before and after your wax to make it go more smoothly.

Always be clear with the technicians exactly what you want to be removed and what you would like to be kept. Remember, you can always choose to have more hair removed but it isn’t as easy to go the other way!
